External Manufacturing (EM) team is a part of Procurement, Packaging and External Supply Spend Area and is responsible for cost effective sourcing portfolio of branded finished products (FP) from “external manufacturers” (EMs) in compliance with Mondelēz International food safety, quality, service level expectations and Mondelez Global Procurement Policy.

This function is critically important to the EE area growth agenda. EM Sourcing Manager is responsible to establish EM supply solutions and timely execute New Product launches representing a significant contribution to the EE area Net Revenue growth.

This role is responsible for managing the commercial relations with EMs delivering for EE area and is a primary contact for EE area Supply Chain and EE Commercial team and EE Procurement Lead 

Key focus areas for this role include portfolio analysis, sourcing strategy definition and deployment and stakeholder management, in order to maximize total cost of ownership savings and Procurement value contribution. 

Working in collaboration with  EE team to understand business needs, develop regional market insights-, risks and opportunities and support delivery of regional goals. He/she drives Procurement value contribution to Mondelez while ensuring compliance with policies, strategies and processes. 

Various procurement tools including cost modelling assist in developing joint business plans with suppliers, creating bid events and performing effective negotiations are available to reach that goal. 

The role will be responsible for optimizing EE EM network and cost by searching primarily for local sourcing options

Major accountabilities:

Supplier Selection
  • Lead the process of reviewing existing suppliers and searching for new suppliers, define and recommend a Supplier Base based on Suppliers capabilities answering business needs. Establish and maintain good working relationships with suppliers to build agreements that are compatible with local needs per single plant & SKU.
Buying Strategy

  • Execute Sourcing Strategies to deliver productivity, supply optimization and innovation programs through Insourcing, Outsourcing, Bidding, co-development. Align with other Spend Areas and all other procurement functions in order to maximize Savings and .optimize speed to market.
  • Drive change management processes by leading communication through Procurement and Category Stake Holders.
Buying Negotiations and Contract Implementation

  • Manage preparation and planning of the negotiations for EM business agreements across the region. Conduct negotiations by employing appropriate techniques and leading cross-functional input.  Lead and manage the negotiation of contracts to ensure Mondelez receives the best possible supply, quality, prices, scale leverage, terms and conditions to secure competitive advantage vs. the peer companies/competitors within the scope of responsibility. Ensure all quality, service and compliance requirements are met (e.g. specification management, audit initiation & tracking, CSR). Negotiate contractual terms of agreements.
  • Lead contract implementation and drive contract compliance as per globally agreed Procurement policies for selected global and multi-regional Spend Areas. Coordinate contract implementation tasks with regional and local Procurement operations and users. Closely monitor internal customers' contract compliance and define and take approved corrective actions to improve contract compliance. Secure knowledge transfer and exchange by creating and storing project deliverables and relevant tools and templates in knowledge repositories.
Manage relationship with Co-Manufacturers

  • Accountable for managing EE EM portfolio. Manage assigned co-manufacturers to ensure flawless execution of EM projects and initiatives, and delivery of Mondelez requirements in terms of supply, quality, price and service.
  • Leads regional supplier relationship and risk management. In line with defined Procurement strategy, support classification and categorization of suppliers, including definition of supplier evaluation and audit policies. Continuously track supplier performance according to globally defined framework. Lead supplier development activities, set-up cross functional review meetings with suppliers in order to improve performance and further reduce cost. Initiate and conduct supplier audits according to globally defined framework. Proactively identify supply continuity risks and develop mitigation plans.
Project Management
  • Execute flawlessly, with support of EM BD functions, (on time and within cost) day to day operations and MOR approved projects for EM sourcing including product developments, packaging- and design changes. Develop and execute productivity initiatives by leveraging cross functional resources including Marketing, R&D, Quality and Supply Chain to implement CoM transfers, reformulation, raw and packaging specification optimization, production process changes, quality improvements and decomplexity.
Internal Customer Relationship

  • Support management of internal customer relationships related to EE. Within the framework of the cross functional sourcing and supplier development teams, closely develop and manage the relationship with internal customers.
  • Manage internal customer feedback and supplier performance. Improve and reinforce Procurement’s profile and recognition within the EE internal customer community.


  • 8-10 years experiences in business, ideally within Procurement and/or Manufacturing;
  • Embracing manufacturing and commercial environments;
  • Experience of managing through multi-functional and multi-cultural projects and teams, preferred in FMCG;
  • University degree (Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting/Finance or technical degree is preferred);
  • Knowledge about Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain;
  • Fluent English and Russian languages.
